Care adapted around medical treatment
Meet Jo, your holistic health oncology specialist
My connection to Reflexology – and the reason cancer support means so much to me – is deeply personal.
More than 20 years ago, I became pregnant while receiving weekly Reflexology. My Reflexologist attended my daughter’s birth, became her godmother and inspired me to train so I could support others. Sadly, she later passed away from cancer.
Years later, I had the privilege of supporting another close friend and client through her own cancer journey.
These experiences inspired me to undertake advanced oncology training and have shaped the compassionate, whole-person care I provide today.
I now offer women and men a calm, nurturing space where they can feel heard and supported from diagnosis through treatment, recovery and life beyond cancer.

From diagnosis through to treatment and recovery, our complementary cancer support is shaped around how you feel that day in our calm sanctuary in the heart of Burley in Wharfedale.
1. Support through diagnosis
A cancer diagnosis can turn life upside down. While you’re processing difficult news, waiting for results or trying to understand what comes next, we offer a calm, confidential space where you can pause, relax and feel supported.
3. Pre and post surgery recovery
Preparing for and recovering from surgery can feel physically and emotionally exhausting. We offer gentle support focused on rest, comfort, energy and emotional wellbeing. Where suitable, your sessions may also include carefully adapted lymphatic support to help you feel nurtured as your body begins to recover.
2. Treatment support
Chemotherapy and radiotherapy can affect your energy, sleep, digestion, emotions and general comfort in ways that change throughout treatment. We'll ask how you’ve been since your last appointment and adapt your Acupuncture or Oncology Reflexology around what you need most.
4. Recovery and beyond
Reaching the end of medical treatment is a huge milestone – but it doesn’t always mean immediately feeling like yourself again. Our cancer aftercare support can continue for as long as you need it, helping you navigate lingering fatigue, discomfort, disrupted sleep, anxiety and the emotional adjustment of moving forward.
Complementary therapies tailored around you
We’ll take time to understand your diagnosis, treatment, symptoms and priorities before creating a personalised plan that works safely alongside your medical care.
Our specialist oncology therapies include:

Reflexology
Oncology reflexology is a gentle treatment adapted around fatigue, neuropathy, lymphoedema risk and tender areas. Many clients value the opportunity to rest, release tension and feel cared for during a physically and emotionally demanding time.
Acupuncture
Acupuncture involves placing very fine needles at carefully selected points to stimulate sensory nerves and may encourage the release of endorphins and serotonin, which can relieve pain and improve your overall mood. Acupuncture can also help with nausea, tension and relaxation.
Red Light Therapy
Red light therapy uses red and near-infrared light to support cellular energy and the body’s natural tissue-repair processes. It may support the recovery post cancer treatment by helping with muscular or joint discomfort, stiffness, inflammation and swelling.
Combined Treatments
With our wide range of holistic therapies – from Lymphatic Drainage Reflexology to Fire Cupping – we can adapt each session as your symptoms change, focusing on priorities such as sleep, discomfort and lymphatic support.
For further information on how Acupuncture can support cancer recovery, please see the extensive research of Beverley de Valois, PhD, LicAc.
